Lauren Hill is the Amazon-bestelling author of What Your Body Wants You to Know. An AmSAT-certified teacher of the Alexander Technique for over two decades, Lauren began studying the Alexander Technique in her 20s while looking for help managing chronic neck, shoulder, and back pain. Besides the physical relief she found with the Alexander Technique, she was also drawn to its simple and practical nature. She’s continually fascinated by this work, 30 years since first encountering the Alexander Technique.
Lauren loves helping her students learn the skills of the Alexander Technique—and watching them use those skills to make positive changes in their lives. She believes that a good teacher should be a “guide by your side” rather than “a sage on the stage.”
When she’s not helping her students find more ease in their daily lives, Lauren can be found ballroom dancing with her husband, telling jokes, writing, chasing rabbits around her backyard, dreaming up next year’s Halloween costume, and spending quality time outdoors.
A note from Lauren:
I know firsthand that small changes have the power to transform your life and relationship with your body.
I started the blog on this site in 2014 for anyone interested in exploring their posture in a way that’s fun and interesting—and differs from the standard advice you’re usually given. I’ll never tell you to stand up straight and pull your shoulders back. (I promise!)
The blog is based on my years working with the principles of the Alexander Technique as well as my own experiences managing a body with chronic pain. And if you enjoy the blog, you’ll love my book!
